The upcoming Japan X Bowl looks finely poised. IBM's offense has the ability to score points in a hurry but Fujitsu's defense has been the best in the league over the past few seasons. On the other side of the ball Frontiers big mauling offensive line will be matched in terms of size and power by Big Blue's gigantic front. The game promises to be closely fought and thrilling. We asked people involved with Japanese football in different respects which team they ultimately see coming out on top and why.

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason: A defense centered around Nixon and Adeyemi probably has the measure of IBM's offense.

Hiroshi Ikezawa (Journalist / Editor: Japan Times)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason: Their defense is solid enough against both run and pass  to adjust to IBM's dual QB attack.

Kunihito Goto (Photographer)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers (if Gino Gordon plays) IBM Big Blue (if he doesn't)

Reason: Those that run win.

Alex Niznak (QB: Asahi Soft Drinks Challengers)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason: Fujitsu's experience playing in this game over the last 5 years gives them the advantage.

Shun Yokota (RB: Panasonic Impulse)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason: They've been in the JXB for five straight years and I feel the stability in whole team and the players individually is too much for IBM to overcome .

Roger Kelly (Editor: American Football International)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason: With veterans like Colby Cameron and Gino Gordon who have been there before and won they have an edge. They find ways to win. Although IBM has momentum, I think the Frontiers experience and playoff savvy will carry them.

Daisuke Aoki (K: Lixil Deers)

Pick: IBM Big Blue

Reason: I think Fujitsu is stronger all round but IBM has the momentum after beating Panasonic in the semifinals.

Kaz Nagatsuka (Journalist: Japan Times)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  Better experienced, composed and better defense.

Tamon Nakamura (Owner: Roppongi Gorigori Burger)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  Starting with Gino Gordon, Fujitsu people came to eat Gorgori Burger voluntarily.

Naoki Koshi (Head Coach: Obic Seagulls)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  IBM got the most points I think but Fujitsu is strong in all three phases. In the three weeks since the semifinals Fujitsu has been practicing weekdays as well so I predict the Cameron-led offense will be very well prepared.

Keizaburo Isagawa (DB: Obic Seagulls)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  I predict it'll be a high scoring game but in the end Fujitsu have it within themselves to win.

BJ Beatty (DL: Obic Seagulls)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers  (By one score or a FG)

Reason:  They’ll get a few more turnovers than IBM will.

Richard Ellebie (DL: Tokyo Gas Creators)

Pick: IBM Big Blue

Reason:  Most if not all the guy are coming off a great game against Panasonic and I know John, James, Kevin, and Charles will all ball out to get this win!

Carlton Jones (DL: Panasonic Impulse)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  Their team has an offensive advantage against IBM, from the offensive line pass block technique and the DBs being IBM's weak link.

Reggie Mitchel (Coach)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  Their experience in big games and the American coaches' experience.

Takehito Noda (OL: Asahi Soft Drinks Challengers)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  The offensive line has so many good players and the combined talent at QB, WR and RB.

Sean Draper (DB: Elecom Kobe Finies)

Pick: IBM Big Blue

Reason:  They have yet to win a Japan X Bowl.

Kei Hosoi (LB: Asahi Beer Silver Star)

Pick: IBM Big Blue

Reason:  Tatsuma Kobayashi will do it again.

Takayuki Sunaga (Head Coach: Nojima Sagamihara Rise)

Pick: IBM Big Blue

Reason:  Fujitsu is stronger collectively and individually but has been up and down this season and not scored as freely. It all comes down to Kevin Craft. He's not a 'strong under pressure' or 'dual-threat' type of QB. He needs to remain poised and stick to the game plan. If he can vary the point of attack, keep a good pace in the no-huddle and hit Stanton on big plays when the chance arises then IBM can win.

Reina Kawahara (Cheerleader)

Pick: IBM Big Blue

Reason:  I believe IBM can shut down Fujitsu!

Shintaro Saeki (Punter: Panasonic Impulse)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  I think Fujitsu's ability to win when it matters and the solidity of their defense will devour IBM.

Edmond Toby Davis III (Center: Panasonic Impulse)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  If Fujitsu is healthy they will win.

Masashi Fujimoto (DB: Obic Seagulls)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  Both teams have similarly strong offenses with the ability to score points but if you look at the defenses, personally I think Fujitsu is better.

Hiroaki Nakazato (DL: Obic Seagulls)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  I think Fujitsu has the stronger defense.

Shun Sugawara (QB: Obic Seagulls)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason:  Offense. Defense. Kicking. There are strong players at the key sections of all phases. A collapse is unimaginable.

Chris Pfaff (Photographer)

Pick: IBM Big Blue

Reason: Always bet on the underdog.

Noriaki Kinoshita (WR/R: Obic Seagulls)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason: Fujitsu has more talent and experience. Whichever one wins Seagulls will knock them both off next year.

Yuji Kuramochi (DL: Lixil Deers)

Pick: IBM Big Blue

Reason: I'm expecting an offensive explosion. The OLine really need to get fired up to combat Fujitsu's powerful defense. I'll be focused on the battle at the line of scrimmage.

Brad Brennan (Former WR: Fujitsu Frontiers)

Pick: Fujitsu Frontiers

Reason: Nothing stronger than Family. Family wins.
